Will you have to wait 10 years for Indefinite Leave to Remain (also known as Settlement) in the UK?

Following the Government’s announcement to make it harder to move to and settle in the UK, there is significant discussion around a potential change to ILR rules, in particularly a proposed increase to the qualifying period from 5 to 10 years.

Redfern Legal have been inundated with questions from those understandably worried about their status if these changes are to be implemented which must be expected in the current immigration and political climate.

It should be noted that whilst some people will continue to qualify sooner based on criteria yet to be confirmed, we suggest taking a pragmatic approach to future immigration changes. Steps should be taken now to secure your right to settle in the UK.

Our dedicated team of specialist immigration Practitioners are on hand to advise and assist you. We welcome the opportunity to offer a sense of certainty in a less-than-ideal immigration climate.
